This wine offers equal parts richness and steeliness with oxidative qualities next to freshness and verve. It benefits from some time in the glass, coming up to a slightly chilled temp (versus fully chilled).
 
It has a gorgeous golden hue with medium (+) aromas and flavors of yellow apple, white peach, nectarine, honeydew, chamomile, orange blossom, toasted hazelnut, beeswax, delicate struck match (that faded as the wine opened up), ground white pepper, and wet slate notes.

On the palate, it’s dry with medium alcohol, clocking in at 13% ABV, and a vibrant acidity, lending balance and lift.  

Its varieties include 30% Bourboulenc, 30% Marsanne, 30% Viognier, and 10% Clairette.
This wine vinified and matured (for 8 mos) in a combination of oak and stainless steel tanks.
 
From what we understand the 2014 vintage in the Southern Rhône was tricky, and less than ideal... but here’s to tasting these wines with a little bottle age to discover how meticulous practices in the vineyard and winery can produce a wine of beauty, complexity, and resilience, despite facing nature’s adversity! — 5 days ago

Talk about an enormous wine. The 2005 is downright youthful and packed to the gills with fruit and character. Dark fruited with anise and black pepper. It was just so dense that everything seemed locked up right now…and we can thank Mourvedre for that. This was very tasty with cassoulet, Toulouse sausage and duck confit. If I were going to open another one of these, I would probably hold until 2030 and this will probably last for another 25 years beyond that. A vivid, fresh medium body Southern Rhone. Likely because they fermented half the blend in stainless steel it created a clean, balanced wine with nice darker, warmer layers of fruit. Not sure what the blend is but likely Grenache was ruling. — a month ago

This wine has a soft, light, onion skin pink hue. The nose is fresh and fruity. There is a bushel basket of strawberries in the aroma package, along with citrus minerality and that wonderful smell of rain on a hot sidewalk. The palate is dominated by the acidity, which is quite lively. Ripe red fruit is there, of course, as is a healthy dose of lemon and tangerine. The wine finishes long and the acidity keeps on working after the sip. — 2 months ago

Great dark color..i get cherry and raspberry..some chocolate..it was improved considerably the next day as the tannins calmed down bit..this would be great with grilled meat..at 33 dollars, good value — a month ago
