Initial aromas of passion fruit. 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Semillon. Grassy and herbal notes. Quite delicate. A guava note on the palate. Only 35% new oak which is totally integrated. So refreshing and balanced. I have previous Delectable notes which were also praiseworthy. — 20 days ago
Terrific example of a high quality Sauternes with lemon zest, peach, apricot and pineapple plus dried apricot, honey, beeswax, saffron, ginger, vanilla and butterscotch. Excellent acidity to balance the restrained sweetness of the wine. Still young with plenty of room to develop. — 13 days ago
Deep ruby with light garnet rim. Warm crushed ripe plum on the nose. Medium acid, gentle but noticeable tannin that smooths with some air. Dark fruit at the beginning, which after some decanting turns to more plum, coffee, dark chocolate, oak and vanilla. — 3 days ago
Double decanted before service; enjoyed over a several hour period. The 1988 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and significant signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with dried dark fruit, tobacco, mocha, grilled meat, mushrooms, damp earth and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry. At this point, the tannins have integrated completely and are perceived as medium; acid is similar. Finish is medium. This leaned towards the more rustic, old school style of Bordeaux and I’m all for it. While this isn’t falling off a cliff, I would drink now. — 13 days ago

Yellow gold with copper hue, quite thin pale rim . Caramelised pineapple, saffron , vanilla , creme brûlée , quite rich and decadent. On the palate again quite rich , barley sugar , creme brûlée and saffron, just enough acidity to balance and a little alcoholic warmth . On the medium length finish , lemon rind and a touch of caramel . This is probably at peak now , just misses a little vibrancy , freshness, however successful for the vintage . Drink now and over the next 10- 15 years — 10 days ago
