Last had 2 years ago and the extra time has been good to this. Really a lovely burgundy with some rotisserie chicken on the first snowy day of the season in New York. Red fruit, light earth, and minerality all in balance and expressing very nicely. Finishes with good acid and a real lift. Delicious. — 7 months ago
A beautiful deep red fruited nose along with earth. On the palate the wine appears angry that I disturbed its sleep. Gives me the red fruit found on the nose along with plums and throws in some spice & minerals. The finish was as if the wine threw the blanket over itself and told me to turn off the light and get out of the room. — 9 months ago
Baby Puligny here. Hazelnuts, iodine and saline on the nose. Very mineral and precise. Rich and voluminous with amplitude, lushness and finesse. Really gorgeous wine. Good concentration and lovely lemony note on the finish. Really well made. — 3 months ago
Better. Still on the lean side but none less beautiful. Clean. Pure. — 4 months ago

Crisp white Burgundy served with shrimp cocktail at Dowling’s Restaurant in the Carlyle Hotel, NYC — 3 years ago
Wow this is singing! What a nose. Gorgeous lemon inflected minerality. Hints of attractive spicey oak and stunning rocky minerality. Tree bark and herbs. So good. What a screaming mimi of a nose. Palate is rich and ripe but also nervy and tense. Amazing purity buttressed by that awesome Meursault richness. Lovely texture. Awesome mouthfeel and a lovely lemon drop lime zest finish. Wonderful. — 5 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of strawberry, raspberry, sous bois, red flowers, horse blanket, mushroom and a mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a fairly textbook example of the 2014 vintage with its rustic green streak coupled with Lignier’s charm. Drink now through 2029. — 7 months ago
Very fruitforward with (stewed) red fruit & blueberries, moist undergrowth and a whiff of herbs. Not shy at all yet retaining good freshness.
Starts quite soft & mellow on the palate, with the fine tannins framing the juicy fruit and a mineral, graphite note underlining the whole.
Good depth & character, would prefer a bit more lightness of touch.
An excellent Bourgogne Rouge nonetheless. — 5 years ago

This was a bright, crisp, medium to medium-high acid French white burgundy that was a little less mineral than Chablis. $375 at Joujou, I preferred the champagne for $325. — 3 months ago
