Bougros Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2022

Damn this is great.

Nose: gorgeous. Fun. Amazing. Dense. Expensive. Joyous.

Palate: luscious fruit. Not over the top. Mineral. Balanced.

Fass selections.

Les Côtes Saint-Joseph Syrah 2022

Funny how sometimes I’m guilty of thinking “ letting the Brett blow off” to taste the main event. Here the development in the glass is the main event, which includes quite a bit of funk when first opening up. That the evolution includes wild blackberries & cassis, & the funk adds to the overall impression of something feral getting tamed, is all part of the fun. Fine grained & can be drunk young, but curious how it would fare in 8-10 years ( imagine a much more smoothed out development & sweetness). — a month ago

Granit 30 Cornas Syrah 2021

Somm David T
9.1

Easy to drink on pop & pour for such a young Syrah.

Reminded me a bit of the Domaine Rostaing’s I’ve enjoyed. Ripe black cherry, crème de cassis, violets, lavender, pepper, stem inclusion, notes of roasted chestnuts, grilled meats, iron pan, spices, dark flowers, nice acidity with good balance and elegant finish.

La Romanée Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2022

From one of the absolute best sites in Chassagne, the ‘22 vintage and third vintage from Theo Dancer is expectedly superb, and the sunny and impeccably located La Romanée vineyard is profoundly textural, satiny and incisive with a particularly citrusy profile with freshly baked bread and chalky minerality. This is of course, still very young and is without a doubt built to age. — a month ago

Chablis Chardonnay 2022

First bottle of the basic 2022 Chablis. Between this and the Jean Dauvissat it’s hard to pick a go-to favorite. Delicious and an excellent value. — a month ago
