Amazing consistency, oxidative notes with apricots and apple cider. On the palate, green apples , sherry notes and citrus zest. What separated the bottles were the various levels of freshness. All were enjoyable but none had that “wow” factor. My rating is a composite. — 5 days ago

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2000
2000 vintage. Never a fave L-B vintage as it has always seemed a little too much sizzle and not enuff steak. FF two decades and said wine is drinking more like a Napa cab vs a BDX. Chunky and in a state of transition (discombobulated) but still medium-heavy body after two+ decades. The 2005 is more affordable and drinking better, imho, currently. Will this effort will ever round into form for dedicated L-B fans going back to the 1985 vintage? Not tasting it. Storybook fill and cork. Decanted and tasted immediately, after 30 mins and after two hours. Aggressive sed. 7.3.24. — 3 days ago

Château Pavie
Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2003
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2003 pours a deep ruby with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some light light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark fruits, green bell pepper, leather, tobacco, earth, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and satisfying. This was pretty impressive right out of the gate and seemed to show really well despite the challenging (historically hot at the time) vintage. Drink now through 2044. — 12 days ago
Sipping Fine Wine
A blend from several vineyards, including Middle Reach, Green Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and the Laguna Ridge area. Bright Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, cherry and currants with pepper, tea, herbs, vanilla and oak, aged on French oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with spice, ripe fruit and oaky tones. Very Nice! — 6 days ago
