First time trying Domenico Clerico. Definitely can see how this leans a bit to the more powerful side but can’t argue with the quality and depth. Lots of balsamic, tar, and flowers. Great acid and tannins are still present but in check. Long finish. Fun one to try. — 5 hours ago

What a nose on this wine. The nose is the most remarkable feature. Just perfect. The palette is good and standard Barolo. Perfectly smooth tannins now. Still needs a decant but excellent after 30 minutes. — 14 days ago

Compared to the Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra this still had plenty going on and I think would have gotten better with more time. Some berries and tar stood out but busy evening.

Nose has cherry jam, wet leather, stewed red fruits, sweet tobacco and dark chocolate.
Palate has cherry mash, moist chocolate brownie, cedar and sea salt. Fading but present tannins.

12H decant, still needs airing, long life ahead. I'm a fan of 2000 Baroli. — 2 years ago
