Fruit and oak on the nose, plum and blackberry notes. A really good cab. — 2 years ago
Very elegant with silky, polished tannins and lovely floral notes of violet. Leather, black cherry, blueberry, warm wood notes of delicate vanilla, espresso, mocha, tobacco leaf and a background note of mushroom and vanilla. Good long finish.
This wine is 47% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. — 3 years ago
Been a bit over 4 years since I have had the. Nose is classic with tar, tobacco, ripe mid season cherries, really provocative spice notes, and some chestnut. Palate is ripe and minty with ripe but substantial tannins and not that much finesse which I hope will develop with air. Juicy and so clean but lacking some excitement. — 4 months ago
Dark ruby hue. Medium-plus tannins and acidity. Notes of bell pepper, blackberry, blueberry, bramble, and tar. Stark on the nose, but brilliant and smooth on the palate, with grippy tannins. 51 Merlot, 42 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7 Petit Verdot. — a year ago
I am a big fan of David Swift Phinney wines. In 1998 David founded Orin Swift Cellars; Orin is his father’s middle name and Swift is his mother’s maiden name. Aged 10 mos in French oak, 42% new, Ruby with complex aromas of fresh fruits, floral and herb spice, nice mouthfeel. On the palate flavors of raspberry and cherry with cacao and hints of pepper spice. Rich full chewy tannins, well balanced on long finish ending with fruit and earthy spice. — 3 years ago

Medium ruby , terracotta /garnet rim. Quite round and ripe , red plum , cigar and ripe blackberry, touch of soy . Touch of cocoa , blackberry and ripe dark cherry , black tea . Quite sweet , rich on the palate, generous for Las Cases , slightly dried fruit , fig and red plum . Pretty decent length , balanced but quite discreet acidity , rounded tannins . This is at peak now and I don’t see much up side from here , so best to drink over the next 5 years or so, though it did hold up in the glass quite well . Atypical for Las Cases with its ripe fruit, quite low acidity , sweet tannin: also this only has 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall probably the least successful of the wines in this tasting , but the level overall was very high. — 17 days ago
