Well Balanced fresh tasting white, surprisingly good. Best enjoyed with good local food. Yamas ! β 3 years ago
Domaine Drouhin Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2017: Medium-bodied. Bright red fruits on the nose and strawberry, raspberry, cherry & plum on the palate. Additionally, there is a light touch of forest floor, earthiness ending with a soft dry finish. Glad to be back supporting & enjoying some local outdoor dinner spots! Cheersπ· β 4 years ago
Really delicious and drinkable. Had with a shrimp and bean stew. Did nicely with the smoke of paprika and acid from lemon β 5 years ago
Perhaps the best Coda di Volpe i've ever had
60yo vines, 4 days maceration and 30% of the mass fermented in chestnut barriques; after that 12 months in stainless steel.
Wine that truly is alive
It feels like still fermenting(but it's not)
It makes me picture kimchi, ginger and daikon
It has this tingling fruit and a mineral tension
Background of honey and gunpowder plus a decoration of spring flowers
It goes without saying how highly i consider Cantina Giardino, the barrels they use are all crafted by a local artisan with local woods among chestnuts(like in this case), cherry, figs or others that might slip out of my mind at present.
This is a wine made of beauty with no make up.
It's long and refreshing and super enjoyable. β 3 years ago
First and Foremost my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that has suffered loss in the California wildfires. Many wineries suffered and I was especially saddened to hear of the damage at Hourglass..it is a personal favorite and was actually the first higher end wine that I sought to purchase (per my budget).
Irony...sometimes strange. I heard about the loss at Hourglass this morning. After work I visited my local Hyvee Wine Dept and they have a lot of their SB..different Vintages..not normal in this area!
Yes! So the wine..this 2016 has evolved so amazingly! I am getting lemon..grassiness..
Honey..soft flint..kiwi..and a hint of cheese rind! Fantastic wine Hourglass! ππππͺ β 4 years ago

Visiting Fredericksburg TX for a few days. This is TX hill country and has a big winery community. Never tried any TX wines before but found a few surprises here. We tasted at Becker earlier today but not this wine. $30 on the restaurant wine list. Becker wasnβt our favorite stop but it is the only local winery represented on their list. Overall local wines seemed overpriced compared to CA wines. Just realized we had an older vintage (2018) on our last trip from Houston to Anaheim. Itβs interesting that most of the grapes used in the local wines come from Lubbock (panhandle) area. Donβt know where these grapes came from, or what varietals are present. β 3 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of equal amounts of local red grapes; Caino, Espadeiro and Loueiro, Ruby red color with aromas of red fruits, herb, floral and cigar box notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. Nice, will continue to age. β 2 months ago
