Made with the local grape Carricante, pale to medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruit, citrus and honey floral notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apple and pear with slight citrus and nutty notes. Good acidity, balance and structure, medium+ finish ending with salty mineral nutty character. Still shows lovely red cherry fruit aromas and flavors, but since our last bottle there is now an earthy, savory side as well, I think this will easily go another 3-5 more years, but with only 1 bottle of this (and 1 Henk as well), not sure it’ll last that long in my cellar, long finish, very fine Yarra Valley Pinot!! — 3 months ago

This is terrific. Majority picotendro, the local clone of Nebbiolo, along with 3 local grapes I’ve never heard of. An earlier review listed them, if you’re curious. This is an alpine Nebbiolo. Light, slightly sour cherry/ raspberry with a wee bit of earthiness. A mouthful of flavor. Tannins are there but integrated pretty well. Will buy this again. Think it was @$18! — 2 months ago

Visiting Fredericksburg TX for a few days. This is TX hill country and has a big winery community. Never tried any TX wines before but found a few surprises here. We tasted at Becker earlier today but not this wine. $30 on the restaurant wine list. Becker wasn’t our favorite stop but it is the only local winery represented on their list. Overall local wines seemed overpriced compared to CA wines. Just realized we had an older vintage (2018) on our last trip from Houston to Anaheim. It’s interesting that most of the grapes used in the local wines come from Lubbock (panhandle) area. Don’t know where these grapes came from, or what varietals are present. — 4 years ago

On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. Picked up a couple of these from a local cellar sale at a crazy cheap price and have been happy with each one.

Classically older SLD Cabernet. The fruit spectrum is on the red and black side (as I expect from SLD) with a mocha/cocoa layered sweetness. Some older fig, sweet pipe tobacco, and a core of fruit still in-tact. Soft on the mid-palate but retaining nice structure throughout the finish. Exactly what I expected from 34yr old Napa Cabernet.

Hope to try the Realm X Hartwell wine to see the vision from where this was to what the profile goal is in the future. — 6 months ago

Snagged from my local Italian market. The sign said a must try. I was willing. I liked their PN. Chilled the wine in the fridge but could have taken it outside a tossed it into a pile of snow. Nice pizza wine. — 4 years ago
