This wine has the kitchen sink in it. Dark fruit is hiding under the prominent leather, herbs, mint, tobacco, and earth. It's a fine sipper for jazz nights by the fireplace. Made my teeth red.

Beautiful translucent ruby red in the glass. So aromatic and heavily perfumed - I thought I was smelling the lady next to me but no, it’s the wine. White gardenia, violets. Not much fruit at all. Tannins are quite grippy for pinot noir, surprising. Finish is short-ish, bummer. The taste is very whelming but the aroma goes on forever and ever… and finally I smell that freshly rained-upon forest floor!! At the very bottom of the glass… pee-like ammonia. This CdP seems a bit more angry and wild from being opened, a touch more structure than the softer 2000 Bosquet des Papes (2001 was a more tannic vintage), solid balance, also mature, 13.5% ABV, longish finish. — a month ago
