Mount Rose Vineyards

R. López de Heredia

Viña Tondonia Rioja Rosé Blend 2011

Medium copper salmon colour , with wide slightly yellow tinged rim . Toasty notes , with some dried herbs , orange rind , candle wax , toasted almonds , sea breeze, in some ways quite similar to the white reserva. On the palate this is quite intense and grippy again , with a nutty , spiced orange rind , dried red fruit . Good balanced acidity , good volume and decent length . This is ready and drinking well now but will probably last well over the next 5 -8 years, though I don’t see it improving — a day ago

Deep pink color. Aromas cherry jolly rancher, red candied apple and flint. So good, crisp and cold on a nice day at Carmel-by-the-Sea. — a month ago

Château de Pibarnon (Comte de Saint Victor)

Bandol Rosé Blend 2023

Pretty color of peach.

Fresh nose of red fruits with citrus and herbs.

Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice complexity.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, citrus, apples, sea salt, grapefruits, herbs and spices.

Tangy finish with limes and light almonds.

Elegant and fruit forward. Soft and smooth. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Good by itself or with food.

Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years, and see how it evolves.

A blend of 65% Mourvèdre and 35% Cinsault. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel vats.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$35.
