M3 Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2019

Clean apple and peach notes, some oaky/resinous funk. After an hour hints of matchstick and toast occur.
Very Nice.

Gaining complexity and depth after extended aeration. Up a notch,

Another great btl that is clean, crisp showing lemon, citrus with saline, mineral & a balanced, racy finish — 23 days ago

Chablis Chardonnay 2021

So easy to forget how good a simple class can be. I’ve tasted this so many times, but almost always in horizontal lineups together with its more prestigious siblings and instead I just opened a bottle and a weekday and really thoroughly enjoyed it. Lees, mouthfeel and acid balance. It delivers so much by showing off so little. — 2 months ago

Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

I really enjoyed the complexity of this wine. Maybe it’s because they use 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and bottle unfiltered. Flavor profile includes blackberries, raspberry, and an earthy finish.
if you have a chance to enjoy a bottle, don’t hesitate.

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2012

I haven’t had a lot of aged Chablis, but this is drinking remarkably well for being 13 years old. Austere; high acid but with some weight to it. Flint and lemon peel but I would wager this saw at least some oak as there is definitely a little butterscotch in the background both in the nose and palate. Drinks like a lighter more restrained Montrachet. — a month ago

Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir 2020

A little shy at first but really opens up and shows after a couple hours of air. Classic Santa Cruz Mtns Pinot. Earthy. A touch candied. Long finish. Pretty wine. 👍🏼 — 2 months ago

Delicious, great balance and nice structure. Could be mistaken for a nice burgundy. Great balance of earthy and fruity notes. Would probably be better after more time. Also tried the 2022 which was good but too young — a month ago

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

I read an article recently where the author felt that this 1er cru probably deserved to be a Grand Cru. Whilst this was very good I think it is right at Premier Cru. Initial notes were salinity amongst the apple, citrus flavours and a touch of beeswax. The following night tasted more “new World “. This was very enjoyable but needs to develop more complexity. I will leave my remaining bottle for a couple of years. — a month ago

"Thunder Mountain" tastes like Grand Cru in the right hands. The priciest of the 1er Crus but more affordable than Grand Cru stuff, it occupies the sweet spot as it relates to QPR.

@Bob McDonald , I can state that the Raveneau MdT Chablis I’ve had from the 1980s were certainly of Grand Cru quality!
