Petit Chablis, Chablis

Laurent Tribut

Chablis Chardonnay 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. No formal notes. The 2020 Laurent Tribut is a distinctive and strikingly delicious Chablis on a night of many other examples from the region. The fruit is abundant; fresh and pure with lovely acid and minerals. The next generation is looking bright! Drink now through 2030+ — 4 days ago

Chablis Chardonnay

Did not expect a basic chablis to be so full-bodied yet balanced. It was a perfect match for roasted chicken with a tarragon mustard slurry. Purchase for $25 in March 2022. — a day ago

Nice soft Apple and apricot jam with very light vanilla but not too intense in terms of oak. Light. Lovely. — 4 days ago

Les Lys Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010

“Les Lys” is one of the eight climats within Vaillons but it’s peculiar in terms of its exposure and the soil contains a bit more clay. The wines are equally unique expressions and typically long lived. This bottle is no exception.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a hour. The 2010 “Les Lys” pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with explosive notes of tart and ripe orchard and tropical fruits: green apple, starfruit, passion fruit; a mixed bag of citrus with lemon, lime and even some tangerine. There’s white flowers, a whiff of brioche and racy minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. It has been a few years since I last had the 2010 and it’s no less stunning. Drink now through 2035+

Blanchot Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2014

spectacular nose. Opening up but tightly wound at first. Lime, acacia, honeysuckle, oyster shells, a soft plasticine rounding it out. Gorgeous and refined and improving in the glass enormously. — 13 days ago

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2010

When I taste a wine like this my first reaction is why am I not drinking more Chablis. Opened and the race was on. The quintessential grand cru Chablis. Never stopped putting on weight and complexity . Plenty of life ahead — 21 days ago
