PnP. Dark purple, almost black color. Blackberries, orange peels, and a smell from my youth I can’t place right now on the nose. Alcohol definitely present on the palate but nice texture with a meaty/Rhone flavor. Medium plus depth and long finish. Better than expected. — 2 months ago
Double decanted. So smooth and so classic Bordeaux. Cigar box, purple fruit, integrated tannins and oak. Still drinking strong. — 3 months ago

Expected inky purple-black color in glass. Opens up earnestly after uncorking and a few days in the wine fridge. Blackberry and plummy fruit on the nose, drinks the same with dialed-back acidity and soft tannins on the finish. While it’s not a full-on #napavalley fruit bomb, it’s wanting for complexity - too one-dimensional for my taste. — 19 days ago
The ‘05 Hayne Petite Syrah is still vibrant nearly 20 years on. Inky, dark chocolate in color with graphite, Kirsch, earth and a hint of evergreen on the nose. Smooth and mouth-filling, loaded with dark fruit, even a touch of cocoa. Super long finish on red fruit tanginess. Probably still has years left if you can get your hands on any. — 2 months ago
Cherry, berry, plum with a little oak and light tannins. Good stuff from WA state. It’s been a while since I’ve had this one and it’s good to be reunited. — 3 months ago

When last tasted about 3 years ago, the palate left much to be desired. This is finally coming together.
The nose shows beautifully with blackberries, prune, black tea leaf, cured meat, black pepper, and cocoa powder. Medium to full, the palate is lush, silky, and powerful. Fresh round acidity and fine grained tannins. Long candied herbal finish.
This will continued to evolve and provide drinking pleasure for the next 10-15 years.
