Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Blanco Malvasia Viura 2006

Served with Fisherman’s Pasta - sablefish, mussels, saffron gnocchetti pasta, fennel, fresh baguette toast. If there is one thing constant about every Lopez de Heredia Blanco that I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying, it’s that they are never boring. The 2006 delivers on that with notes of dates, dried apricot, German candied nuts, marshmallows, cumin, dill and toasted coconut. Dry with fantastic acid and the texture is waxy. One of my favorite white wines on earth. Will probably live for another 20 years easy. — 13 days ago

Not a strong fragrance…
Drinks a bit tart/sour, with flavors of spice and tart fruit.

Cornas Reynard (R) Syrah 2007

Always some of my absolute favorite wines. 07 Reynard is in the most perfect place, perfumed, layered and searingly intense with dark fruit, campfire smoke, olive tapenade, violets and a liquid rock minerality. The palate is simply seamless and one of the most complete Allemand wines in recent memory, with incredible complexity, definition and a saturating texture. A top notch Reynard that’s just rocking right now. — a month ago

Les Cocottes Fleurie Gamay 2021

Gorgeous fleurie. Cranberries, dark strawberries, stone, some forest and barnyard, it’s too “crunchy” to be Pinot but leans toward burgundy Pinot. Unbelievable with pork chops and food. I imagine this could be paired with almost anything. Really enjoyed it. One of the best gamays I’ve had in a while. — 2 months ago
