This was a little clenched on opening, but on night 2 (after 24 hours under a vacuum closure), it’s loosened up a bit. Nose has nice, precise black raspberry Zin fruit, a subtle will of oak toast, and rocky gravel. The flavors are fairly concentrated, classic, old-school balanced Zin, but in a nice, claret-like structure. Such nice balance. — 7 months ago
If the wine says it’s from Rockpile, get it. . . Or I will! Was introduced to this region a decade ago and love the wines. For a 15.3% alcohol, this felt lighter, almost 2-3% less. Flavors are blending well, still has a strong fruit forward but the jammy sensation has tempered. Color starting to change slightly. This may have several more years and glad I have more bottles. — 3 years ago
Been there, great stuff. Matron — 4 months ago
My favorite red of the day. Super chocolate-y. Dark cassis, maybe some coffee notes too. — 3 years ago

Nice. Probably needed more air. Not a lot going on but I generally like this producer especially his earlier Oakland crush days. — 12 days ago
