Dry-Farmed, a bit of Cabernet Franc in mix, aged 20 months in mostly neutral French oak barrels. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and floral spice. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry, raspberry and cassis with espresso, cinnamon and earthy spice notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine tannins, long ending with fruit, cacao and tobacco spice! Nice! — 2 months ago
I beg to differ on my prior rating. With some airtime, this comes into its own. Places merlot on a different level. The cab franc gives this structure and presence. No rush to consume. Nice acidity and cherry compote on the mid palate. Finished luscious and moderately sweet. — 2 months ago
2014 vintage. Go back with Staglin to the beginning. Have usually found it (both to their credit and detriment) slightly too acidic and lean without truly embracing one or the other. Distinctive style and it obviously works for them and theirs. Rauzan-Segla from Margaux does it better for the same pricing. — a month ago

Deep ruby color. Aromas of Anaheim pepper, blackberry, plum and violets. What a gorgeous wine! Black and blue fruit on the palate, earthy /dusty finish.
