Not showing as well aromatically as previous vintages, some of which have been my favorite rosés of all time. However, this has wild strawberries and sawdust on the nose and is chock full of acid and minerals per usual. Still a very good bottle of wine.

Caramel popcorn, honeycomb, old forgotten leather, moist oak sawdust; Honey drizzle on dehydrated lemon zest, dehydrated Granny Smith apple slices, buttery apple pie. Oily & viscous mouthfeel, cane sugar but drying. Fantastic experience, 30Y young, drink 2023-2038. — 2 years ago
Nose has lemon wedge, coconut oil, wet sawdust, scrubbed lime and powdered sugar on wet limestone, wet flint, craziness.
Palate has sweet/tart green apple, sugar dusted lemon slice, sweet wood, candied pineapple, honey drizzle on dried apple slice with a long finish, non-stop.

Lovely pink/grey color. Nose is sawdust, pink grapefruit, sweet wood, barely any sweet wood but what is there makes a difference. Very refined and very subtle. Palate is insane. 1er Cru white burg level. Sappy and finesse driven with insane depth and purity. So classy. Concentrated and sapid. Long finish and insane balance. All stone fruits and grapefruit on the palate. Brilliant! — 2 years ago
The cork split so we decanted and filtered it carefully. Ruby colors. Forest floor and toasted sawdust. Plum and some licorice. Barely any tannins. — 3 years ago
From Schneider’s $49.99 for twenty year old bottled in 2010. Nutty woody tawny. Acorns, old figs, sawdust. — 4 years ago
So incredibly rich and complex, this is one of the best whites I have had in a while. Jasmine, orange blossom, lemon pith, tangerine, sawdust, white pepper, and a blue cheese thing on the nose. Heavy bodied and oily in the mouth with piercing acidity and a saline finish. — 5 years ago

I’m not yet a frequent South African wine drinker, but I know one when I smell one. Just a tiny bit of burnt rubber on this one, a tell-tale sign. The aromatics on this blend are slightly muted but I pickup some blackberries, tar, sawdust, and a little chocolate. It’s actually a bit lighter drinking than expected though, medium bodied and medium tannins. Has a spicy and game -like quality to it, not too much fruit. Plums and dark cherries if anything. Good balance all around. Medium finish. — 4 days ago
