Revisiting this on the day we create our first family business, tasting wine from our honeymoon. Couldn’t tell that this wine is 7 years old, with a heavily perfumed nose of artificial carpet, blood orange, and velvet, with hints of pepper and lush dark red fruits to the edges. Color gives away no age either, with a deep rose color and medium body. The tannins remain largely intact on the palate, still grabbing the tip of the tongue, but there’s just a hint of age showing at the periphery, with some butterscotch and caramel notes starting to show integrated well with the loooong blackberry and black plum compote dominating the primary palate, with greater pepper, vanilla, a little coca and earthy notes incorporated within. Purple in color with a purplish rim.

Strong nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing cherries, currants, plums, chocolates, light wood, herbs, spices and peppercorn.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a very tasty and easy drinking Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla Valley. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and entertaining.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet is still very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Very dark Ruby with pronounced aromas of dark fruits, cigar box & earthy notes, touch of floral citrus. Flavors of black cherry & blackberry with tobacco & spice. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with cacao, tobacco & mineral spice as the finish builds. Decant now! One of the most ambitious new entrants to the Napa luxury wine scene sits high up on Atlas Peak. In true “modern Napa” form, Seven Apart @sevenapart is a spare-no-expense project that is the work of financier Don Dady and NFL star Jason Kyle. Andy Erickson of @faviawines is their inaugural winemaker. Deep black cherry and cassis and tobacco morph into licorice and dried flowers and dried herbs on the journey across the palate. Sumptuous and polished, but with excellent acidity and an admirably restrained 14.1% alcohol. The bottle, as you’d expect from such a venture, is offensively heavy, but the wine is good.
