Casanova di Neri

Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2001

Nose smells quite musty and older than it is. The fruit is quite secondary and relatively seamless. — 11 days ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2010

Give the governor Harrumph!! This wine rocked. Amazing perfume. Explosive complex cherry and tar bursting early and throughout. Splendid in every way. Not sure if there is any room to improve. — a month ago

Power and grace. Somehow this feels like a wine of wisdom. Mature, carressing, full of warmth and comfort. Long, elegant, classy. — a month ago

Masseto

Toscana Merlot 1995

Elegant and at 30 years really starting to show its age with a bit too much oxidation. The finesse and elegant structure, the valve between fruit and acidity is still there but the wine is showing mainly tertiary elements now - lots of dried herbs, mint, mushroom and earth with just hints of the plum, black cherry and blueberry that were once there. Very long finish ands very much for those who appreciate aged wines. — 25 days ago

Castelgiocondo Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

Tim L
8.9

2018 Vintage of a legendary large producer. Great balance, a bit too tannic for years aging and perhaps requires decanting, breathing. Having visited the winery a few years ago - beautiful Tuscan facility, would like to say more nice things but the Summary is: nice Brunello. Probably a decent value, but only time will tell — 2 days ago

Tenuta Caparzo

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Caparzo is owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, she also owns Altesino, her signature is on the label! Deep Ruby with berry fruit aromas with cedar, herbs and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate sour cherry, plum & radpberry flavors, with leather, cacao, spice and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine slightly drying tannins, long ending with spicy herb oak finish. Nice, drinks well, decant! — 25 days ago

Castello di Monsanto

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2017

Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh ripe berry fruits, floral and slight spicy notes. Blend of 95% Sangiovese; 5% Canaiolo & Colorino, aged 24 months in oak. Fruit comes primarily from a small parcel of galestro-rich soils. On the palate cherry and black raspberry flavors, adding lovely floral notes, well balanced with acidity and fine tannins. The finish is long ending with slight earthy toasty minerality. Very Nice!! — 8 days ago
