Hmm. 🤔 wasn’t able to connect with this, expectingly great wine. Actually first direct out of the bottle it was promising. Strong oak notes with vibrant dark red fruit underneath it. But over the next hour, the oak flavors started to be integrated more but the acidity became very prominent and made the wine rather single note, diluted, lacking depth, acidic tasting. So needless to say. Disappointing experience. Maybe it was not the right day 🤔. — 5 months ago
My first Petrus was a very special thing. So intense and seductive, really something out of the ordinary. It kept begging my nose going back to the glass and harmoniously gave back so much pleasure. Could feel its presence very clear after a few minutes. Incredible. 98-100. Unique and delicious. — 7 months ago

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing much age.
Gorgeous nose, and dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, black cherries, cedar, cola, licorice, light vanilla, light coffee, chocolates, earth, black pepper and tobacco leaf.
Long finish with fine grained tannins.
What a wonderful surprise. This 23 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking fantastically.
Elegant and fruit forward. Rich and extracted. Soft and smooth.
Good right out of the bottle, and so much better after an hour in the decanter.
Wine Enthusiasts 94 points. Robert Parker 97 points. Wine Spectator 98 points.
Showing great complexity at this point, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
A great sipping wine. Just gorgeous.
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.
14.1% alcohol by volume.
97 points.

Very nice tonight with a pork schnitzel and excited to see how this develops. Opened 10 hours before dinner and decanted for 3 hours. I do think the air helped everything even out a bit. Nice restrained fruit, good linear core of minerality and acid, decently fresh with still some ever so slightly funky earth on the finish. — 7 months ago
The best nose by far so far. Crunchy and precise. Chewy mineral and fruity mid palate. Tingling and elegant finish. — 7 months ago
Had out of plastic cup at party. Was better than alternatives. — 2 months ago
So strong and pristine. This bottle hasn’t moved since bottled. Totally thrilled with this beauty. Intense notes of coffee and mature cherries on the nose. Tannins are robust, coupled with pure maple and zippy acidity. Stand out with zero hints of aging. — 4 months ago
Medium deep ruby , quite wide ruby rim . Bit more wood spice on the nose , touch of herbal cassis , blackberry. On the palate quite rigid dark fruits , with a touch of vanilla , blackcurrant and blackberry . Quite grippy tannins with quite good acidity. Decent length with a bit more grafite and tobacco . This probably needs a little time to round out the rather grippy tannins , so better in 5 years and will last well a further 10-15 — 7 months ago
Yeah, what can I say. Nice wine for sure, but for some reason when I see the Silver Oak label my expectations rise. Realizing this is the Alexander Valley version. But 2011! Thirteen years old. Still rather single note, strong oak tannins still overshadowed what maybe underneath it. A bit disappointed I am afraid. We pulled it out with my first ever Tomahawk ribeye… so yeah. — 10 months ago

Birthday year wine for me. So far, I’ve aged better than this bottle but it’s close! The ‘88 is slightly past its prime but still worth tasting. In the garden of earthly delights - dried figs, plums, dates, and mushrooms. Some peat and chocolate. Plenty of spice. Very fun. Happy birthday to me! — 3 months ago
