This wine has a lovely golden tint. Aromas of apricot, apple, pear and a very light citrus note appear in the nose. The flavors are fairly remarkable, especially for a $7 wine. Tropical notes, peach, pear and lemon-lime come forward, along with a hint of sweet oak. The acidity is zippy enough to carry a salad, seafood dish or light pasta meal. The wine finishes long and full. It is definitely a bargain wine, one reminiscent of old-line Chardonnay. — 6 months ago
Founded 1972, Tom & Sally Jordan, from CO, went to CA’s wine country & produced inaugural vintage in 1976. A Fav of mine with a steak, and the ‘17 hits the mark! Blend of mostly Cab Sauv with Merlot, Petit Verdot & Malbec. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruit, floral & spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and fig with oak, sweet spice, leather & cacao notes. Rich tannins, well balanced and integrated with fruit & oak. Very Nice! — 2 years ago
‘Les Blanchots’ is a Grand Cru climat in Chablis, situated on a steep, southeast-facing hillside known for its white clay subsoil (after which ‘Les Blanchots’ takes its name) sitting above Kimmeridgian limestone, comprised of clay, chalk and fossilized oyster shells. 🙌🏻
This wine fermented in a combination of French oak barrels (70%) and stainless steel (30%) followed by 16 months aging on the lees in the cellars of a medieval monastery (L’Obédiencerie) acquired by the Laroche family in 1985.
It is medium lemon in appearance with an elegant expression of lemon peel, fresh white peach, apple, honeydew, star fruit, kumquat, white blossom, seashell, crushed stone, wet slate, struck match, toast, cream, and vanilla characteristics.
On the palate, it offers vibrant, racy acidity and a well-balanced structure.
It is superb! 😆😆😆 — 4 months ago
Blend of mostly Merlot with a little Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, sweet spice and espresso notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with toasty oak, cacao and espresso. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and sweet pepper spice. Still has room to age, but nice now! — 8 months ago
Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and some herb notes, mostly Cab Sauv with small amounts of Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, aged 16 months in 44% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with sweet spice, cedar and notes of cacao. A consistent wine and a good value. Medium+ finish, fine tannins, well balanced ending with fruit , toasty oak and herb tobacco spice. — 2 years ago
Well balanced red blend, though don’t know what comprises the mix. Dark fruits with a little oak and vanilla. Light tannins, quite smooth and fruit steps up at the finish. Great TJs buy from the consistently good Bogle. — 4 months ago
This medium-dark wine offers a nose of black plums, blueberries and blackberries along with aromas of earth, tobacco, cedar, clove and nutmeg. I understand that the three segments - Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre- were vinified in both barrels and tanks, with no more than six months of aging. Given that, it is understandable that oak does not take a more prominent position.
The palate is loaded with dark fruit and savory notes, and it has a firm tannic grip with lively acidity. I had it with some sautéed meatballs and Petit Basque cheese. It paired excellently. — 6 months ago

Last had this 4.5 years ago. I remember the fruit and oak were poking out. 4.5 years later much of the baby fat burned off and this is drinking very nicely. — 7 days ago
