This tastes more like a Left Bank Bordeaux than a straight Cab. It is thoroughly enjoyable with buoyant fruit, lively acids and rich oak.

BlackBerry, cherry, cloves, black tea, heaping of spices, rich integrated oak.

Gorgeously floral nose. Unreal mid season cherries with such lift and clarity. Wow. So clean. Gorgeous spices as well. Palate is juicy and clean. Sappy, pure and clean. Just a great and classic bottle of Liaison. Wispy tannins. Excited to see how this develops. After 24 hours nose is so deep and has great roses and violets. High toned mid season cherry. Really pretty. Terrific spice and only a tiny VA that just adds and does subtract. Palate is juicy and lean. Clean and classic. So linear and clear. Such great mid season cherry fruit. Nimble and not as powerful as recent vintages. — 2 years ago

In my opinion occhipinti’s best and one of the best skin contact wines I’ve had. Beautifully floral, think earl grey... always better on the second glass and not over-chilled. Lovely orange zest and apricot finish. Maybe not for the VA and Brett loving goofball natural wine fanatics but definitely something interesting for someone with a more classic palette who craves complexity and subtlety. — 7 years ago

Paolo Bea dinner at Semo. All wines were prepared by opening and slow-ox, prior to service. Abbreviated notes due to the setting. The 2018 Rosso de Véo pours a deep garnet with wild dark fruit, high end dark dark chocolate cherry cordial, some VA giving it some balsamic notes. Sanguine with high tannin. Loving it with the pork ragu lasagnette made with semolina flour from the Bea farm. Drink now with patience, through 2038. Bottle No. 77/4626 — 5 months ago
