Not an expert in burgundy but I liked it a lot. It was a risky bottle that was stored in unknown conditions. 2009 drunk in 2024. Nevertheless, it showed great balance of acidity, sweetness and tannins, although somewhat disassembled structure. Power manifests itself when you sip but not for long. First notes were lac and leather, then periods of quietness, but then evolved with fresh oaky notes, then jammed wild strawberries, and then freshly crushed ripe blueberries. Overall evolution was not long but did driver very very pleasant experience. — 2 years ago
An amazing Brunello! Relatively unknown in the US, but Italy’s best kept secret! So smooth, clean finish — 5 years ago
Bordeaux-style blend with finesse. One of BC’s best unknown producers of the big reds. Beautifully silky and well-rounded tannins. Blackberry, cassis, caramel, cedar, smoke and vanilla notes on the palette. Excellent wine. — 5 years ago
Once again, I would say this was a less than ideal showing of Kai's 16' Marion's Vineyard - be it storage or for some unknown reason, I felt the fruit should have been more vibrant especially in such a young wine. Anyhow, assessing it as it was, the wine was ripe, spicy, woody, and earthy. It sort of veered towards a Syrah, and finishes with a lick of old-world savoriness. Safe to say I wasn't a fan of the flavours this pino carried (in particular, that marmalade character I find in a lot of warmer climate pino), but the texture's a different story. Mouth-filling (probably courtesy of the high octane value too - 14) and plush, with fine tannins and crisp acidity. Definitely does bring about a sort of elegance. Likely a good pino in most cases, but just not for me. — 7 years ago

Given the mediocre vintage, this is a really nice surprise. For me, An unknown Chateau that has aged gracefully. Tobacco, cedar, leather, not hollow or thin. Good mid-palate and decent length. — 7 years ago
Stags' Leap Winery was one of the early pioneers in establishing Petite Sirah as a premium varietal. The vines date back to 1893, but the block is actually a field blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% other unknown varietals.
Our group tasted the 1977 - 1992 vintages (32 to 47 years old). The 1977 was my favorite along with the group’s. — 2 years ago
Chosen at a good Italian restaurant at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast off the Wine List. Chosen for the vintage - the producer unknown to me. Brief notes. Earthy with a deep black cherry note. Persistent but smooth tannins. Went well with a slow roasted shoulder of lamb with Pappardelle pasta. Celebrating the sale of our apartment held for over 21 years on the Gold Coast. — 3 years ago
Unknown % of GSM+Carignan
Delicious fruit, raspberry and boysenberry. Dark notes in the direction of chocolate and Fig, nuance without being the direct flavor profiles (wrapper of dark chocolate bar etc) . Woody notes from Tannin, and interesting milky aspect at times.
Enjoy young (now-3years) fruit is fantastic, tannins are fine and smooth.
Very happy with this selection, great PQR.
Give a min 1.5 hour decant, if not 3 hours. Didn’t decant, keeps getting better with more air & time. Second day is great.
Very yummy, more please. — 5 years ago
Vintage 2015 / This is a benchmark for Bordeaux from more unknown AOC’s, ‘petit Bordeaux’. Deep dark color, 4/5 transparant with starting of a brown rim. Purple reflection. Classic Bordeaux smell with laurel, plums, even some pencil shape. A restraint smell at this moment. Some tannins in taste, needs a decanter or air in the glass. With food it’s already delicious. That is if you like a bit stubbornness as I do. Very good effort. / Paired with tenderloin and snow peas. — 7 years ago
Always a good go to wine on an unknown wine list. Paired with duck. Sweet cherry dark chocolate and pomegranate. — 7 years ago
Vintage 2019 | unknown producer for me, but it stood out in a very diverse tasting with wines from all over the world. Rich smell with laurel, eucalyptus and each minute new layers, complexity. Well balanced, good acidity, it’s a severe Pomerol, because tasted blind I placed it on the left bank, like more tasters. WOTN — a year ago
We tasted nine Minervois Red Blends (Languedoc region of France), an unknown AOC to our group. This was designated a “vin de table” because as a single-varietal, it did not conform to the Minervois arcane AOC rules. I loved it anyways — 2 years ago
Chardonnay from different parcels around Saint Romain, a relatively unknown appellation not far from Meursault, but at a fraction of the price. Vinified in tank and oak. Pale golden color. Aromas of pear, vanilla, some oaky notes. Medium to full-bodied. Quite rich and round. Citrus and minerals on the palate. Tasty, nice saline finish — 4 years ago
Black berry with very ripe grape. Round. Quick finish. Med tannins — 5 years ago
Unknown purchase. $35.00 avg. price. Smooth tannins. — 6 years ago
One of the many rising stars from the relatively unknown #castillon #cotesdebordeaux region. I think I tried this one pretty young but already lovely earthy cassis backbone, tightly knit tannins that linger in the mouth, once it opens up after decanting. I wonder what could have been after five more years but sometimes today is the day. — 7 years ago

2023. Dark berries and Italian Plum. Rich body without the heavy tannins that young Petite Sirah can have. — 20 days ago
