Oh man. What a depth of flavor.
A study in pear. Dry and light.
Floral cherry blossoms as well. — 5 days ago
An “intermezzo” as we prepared for the reds flights. This was served blind. The 1978 shows really young for its age. Most at the table, including myself, were convinced that this was classified growth Bordeaux with maybe 20-30 years of age. However at least one of us thought it was Napa…and whoa. The color was dark and handsome though there was some sediment (to expected). The fruit was bright but I felt it was secondary to the dried leaf tobacco, earth and leather notes. There was good acid too. Tannins have integrated. Lots of wows when this was revealed while the Napa holdouts gave a smile. Bravo. This could easily live well for another 10 or so years. — a year ago
I literally gave up on domestic Chardonnay...but I love the flavor profile—Tart, juicy Granny Smith and ripe sweet pear. No discernible oak, light crisp acid/ fruit balance and ABV under 13. What a food wine! Every time I pop an Enfield, I congratulate myself on my perspicuity and good sense. It’s not hard to drink well, just ignore the big names and hype. — 4 years ago
Very nice balance of the grapes. Pairs well with grilled chicken and pork. — 6 days ago
“Sipping Fine Wines” comments exactly mirror my own. It went well with the chicken pesto risotto we paired it with.
Enough said. This one is a great value, a hidden gem and a definite rebuy. $20 at Sprouts. #redwine #redblends #californianwine — a year ago
Founded 1972, Tom & Sally Jordan, from CO, went to CA’s wine country & produced inaugural vintage in 1976. A Fav of mine with a steak, and the ‘17 hits the mark! Blend of mostly Cab Sauv with Merlot, Petit Verdot & Malbec. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruit, floral & spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and fig with oak, sweet spice, leather & cacao notes. Rich tannins, well balanced and integrated with fruit & oak. Very Nice! — 2 years ago
Nice medium gold in color, touch of metallic oxidation on the nose. Powerful and potent on the tongue. Bone dry and definitely more savory than fruit-oriented. The wine demanded attention and kept pumping its flavor 30 seconds after swallowing. Perhaps more cerebral than pleasurable, but waxy, lanolin notes can pare well with Greek chicken and roasted Greek veggies. Opa! — 4 years ago

Very fresh, lively, primarily redfruited aromas and flavors, some spicy notes as well, super nicely balanced, great acid, shows admirable restraint, should age nicely midterm (5-10 years?), very good “entry level” Zinfandel, long finish!! I’d read that the 2023 Zins, grown in a relatively cooler year, had a very long growing season, with excellent acidity, and I’d say this shows all of those characteristics. Morgan nailed this, it was great to finally meet his “adult” version, my wife and I first met him about 35 years ago at a ZAP event at Ravenswood hosted by his father Joel. — 24 days ago
