What I dream about when I dream about wine. Perfect. Leather and tannins and earth and depth. Drinking at its peak now. The nose is sensational and hits as soon as the bottle is opened. The fruit is complex and dark with some bitterness. Worth its $90 price tag. — 2 months ago

So solid. I haven’t had in ages and it was saline, lemon, brioche, shells, cream. Full bodied and lovely. Need to drink this one more. at Caruso’s in Montecito. — 19 days ago

My last bottle of the 2020, one of the riper versions I’ve had of this consistently excellent cuvée. Such deeply ripe gooseberry fruit that it crosses over into tropical. But there’s loads of freshness in the form of limestoney mineral scents. Ripe and deep on entry, but then the sneaky acids and the minerality clamps down, making the finish mouthwatering. Terrific accompaniment to our simple broiled haddock weeknight dinner. — 5 months ago

Deep color, with pale orange hues to the edges of a deep rose colored core. Medium bodied, but with quick little running legs, this jumps out of the glass with a beautifully perfumed floral nose of light violet, rose, and deep red, plush textured fruit. Plum, black cherry, I want to say bergamot (but I’m probably using that wrong), with hints of cedar mulch, ripe fig and garrigue. The palate is medium, dry, and lightly, sandy tannic. It has LOTS of energy and emerging flavors and freshness that lasts long after the sip is finished. — 16 days ago
