Medium+ intensity aromas of ripe red fruit (ripe strawberries, cherries and bramble) there are medicinal herbal aromas and flavors as well (anis, thyme and lemon balm) secondary aromas of after eight and cocoa powder. There are tertiary aromas and flavors of ripe dried fruit like prunes. Our New Year wine is 2005 Tenuta Sette Ponti Oreno Toscana. After 17 years, the wine is still vibrant and strong. The tannins are still present but have mellowed. A wonderful glass of wine having a great balance between the fruits and the soft acidity.

Clean medium ruby color. Medium + intensity aromas of ripe rhubarb and red fruit (plums, red apple, cherry jam) some anis and hints of licorice, subtle secondary aromas of oak (coffee and mocha) and tertiary aromas and flavors of dried red fruit (dried cranberries and prunes). On the palate it’s dry with medium acidity, medium+ tannin and high alcohol. Medium+ body and medium+ finish. It’s riper and has more ripe dried fruit skin quality tannins than say a St. Emilion, but it’s delicious and will evolve in a decanter or in the bottle for the next 7/8 years. #merlot #lazio #italy — 4 years ago

When I first tasted this with Coravin we were sure it had TCA, but it wasn’t excessively bitter or astringent and it had plenty of rich ripe black fruit...so I uncorked it today and the cork definitely smells of old winery, old church and almost pine trees but I wouldn’t call it corked cork. Even with the cork issue the wine has a smooth oily attack and firm fine-grained tannins. I am thoroughly enjoying it. #bolgheri #tuscany #italy #supertuscan The winery should definitely look into their cork provider. — 4 years ago

Off vintage. A difficult year. Lighter in color than expected. The red fruits were very much alive but on a very delicate structure. Still enjoyable but wanted more from
Ornellaia. (Edited: On the second day, Ornellaia delivered! Wow. It is still delicate but in a perfect harmony.)

オフヴィンテージ1994年のワイン。思っていた以上に薄い色。フルーツ感は健在でしたが、非常にデリケートな構造の中に存在しているとでも申しますか、難しい年だったことがわかるワインでした。楽しめるワインでしたが、Ornellaiaからはもう少し厚み、芳醇さが欲しかった。(編集・追記: ２日目。Ornellaiaはやってくれました。とてもデリケートな構造の中に完璧なハーモニーが！)
