Botanica Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Medium light ruby , quite wide garnet ruby rim . Touch of pot pouri , with some spiced cherry , wild strawberry and raspberry . Sweet red cherry notes on the palate , some light herbal notes and a saline streak . Touch of black pepper and perhaps a hint of warmth . Ok length and balance . Not as fresh as some of the others. Aequorin Chardonnay 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a hour. The 2021 “aequorin” pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe orchard and tropical fruits: yellow apple, pineapple, starfruit, marshmallow, butter, a mix of white and yellow flowers, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A fun, modern take on New World Chardonnay. Kinda gives me Liquid Farms vibes. Medium ruby in color; cherries, hibiscus, and dried leaves on the nose; residual sugar, medium plus acidity; medium minus tannins; tastes like candied cherries, blackberries, and wet slate with a long finish. I think it will pair well with a cheeseburger. — 4 months ago

Ceras Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Nose - forest floor, wood, tobacco, moss. Main flavors - stewed plum and light baking spices. A bit of tannic structure but overall smooth and earthy. Like no Pinot noir I’ve ever had. Tremendous! Read the James Suckling review and he has it right it’s moody. But I think moody in the best possible way. — 15 days ago

A more leaner rendition of this varietal, but in a good way. Nose displays clean cinnamon and toast. Palate is broad and expansive, yet light on its feet. A kiss of vanilla pod and black fruits conclude an excellent presentation. This is an intellectual wine.
