Flavors of red plum, cherry, raspberry, mushroom and basil. Touch of smoke on the long and lingering finish. Medium-plus acidity, velvety tannins and firm structure. Well balanced. Quite pale ruby . Very fresh and red fruited , red currant , cranberry , with fresh herbs , sage , thyme , quite enticing and aromatic. Very refined red fruit on the palate , elegant and fruit forward , with some wet slate . Quite light tannins , and fresh acidity . Good red cherry stained , herbal finish . Back at Le Cap where we discovered our wine of the year 2024 (Biondi Santi). This year going with a sommelier recommended Vosne Romanee (our go to red burgundy). Initial impression was “wow it’s another wine of the year contender” with notes of white truffle, strawberry ice cream and strawberry jam. Softer and more delicate than other Vosne’s we’ve tasted but after 3 hours of being open the taste dropped off at the end, so only a 9.7. — 3 months ago
