Very nice Rosè! Crisp refreshing , strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, cherry, flint, long seaspray finish, fantastic QPR!
Somehow, it reminds me of the old Nesbitt's strawberry soda! Thanks @John Howard — 4 months ago
Found a few bottles of this Syrah-heavy CdR, by 1995 Guigal was making over 1 million bottles of this gem that I paid less than $10/bottle for on release, this bottle had 2-3 inches of ullage, suspect cork seemed glued into the bottle neck, yet fresh, crisp acidity, a little Brett, but great balance, medium-bodied, this wine will still evolve, really lovely, even though it’s still ultimately a CdR to drink on a Tuesday night with grilled sausage!! — 14 days ago

So, initially I thought this was nowhere near the 1990 Marcoux CdP, and this is Côtes du Rhône (WHAT????), but for a 38 year old CdR, it’s pretty fine, zero tannins, definitely lower alcohol (label says 12.5% ABV, but I’m not buying it?!?!), but no noticeable ABV and smooth and suave, honestly, I attribute the great showing to the 1988 vintage!!? — 3 months ago
Another solid vintage of this Côtes du Rhône staple. Blend of Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%). Dark garnet color with ruby highlights. Aromas of ripe black fruit, violets, dried rose petals and roasted meat. Flavors of ripe red and black cherry/raspberry/plum fruit, savory dried herbs and spices and a bit of black licorice. Hint of earth and bramble on the long dry finish. No real noticeable oak aging. Fruit forward and fresh. Velvety tannins and medium-plus body. Exceptional quality and consistency for the price. Thanks for sharing, Chris B! — 6 months ago
Delicious, raspberry, cranberry, pepper. Young tasting and fruity with Dusty tanins. It is a very food friendly wine that could probably age another 5 years — 5 days ago
Popped and poured into red Solo cups; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2018 pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of dark brambles, a touch of horse blanket, garrigue, purple flowers, black pepper, leather, and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Rustic and ever so becoming. What I would give to have unmitigated access to one of Clape’s most humble wines. Unfortunately, it’s almost harder to get than his Cornas these days. Drink now through 2038. — a month ago

so much bang for the buck - reminds me of when southern Rhône used to be affordable... captivating wine: gorgeous dark ruby color, deep reservoir of black & red fruits, pepper, garrigue and exotic spices. Composed, graceful, med bodied palate, beautiful balance w/bright acidity carrying all the flavors thru long smooth finish — 2 months ago

Deep mahogany, richness in the mouth. Black fruit explodes in the mouth, and lingers to the finish. Some spice and smoke in there. Tannins in check. This is a really good CDR. — 6 hours ago
