Plenty of tannins left. 25bucks. Those were the days! 14%| Quite classic. Browne tinge. Needs at least 2-3 hours of air. Quite harsh and astringent. Roses, earthy and dusty, very dry. Hint of truffles. - Not super exciting at first (15min) so wait. Will last another 10 years - but i do worry about the fruit component if you need space in your cellar - i would suggest drink up. I will. Some folks tend to hype these wines i don’t - after all this is their most basic version with a large production volume. Total volume is 500,000 bottles a year at this cooperative. Pretty and quite approachable at this young age. Aromas of rose petal, red cherry, raspberry, and tar. Light tobacco and dried herbs also on the palate, with fresh acidity and elegant refined tannins.
The 2020 vintage in Piedmont seems to be quite open and expressive early, but age worthy as well. — 20 hours ago

Nice Barolo with lots of limestone showing minerality and brightness. Still a little tight after 11 years, but it’s fantastic with a nice piece of beef. Floral on the nose with juicy choke cherry, leather, unsweetened coco, tobacco, raspberry preserves, and crushed blueberries on the palate. — 18 days ago

Berry forward, complex, full bodied with just a hint of chocolate and oak. Easy drinking but stands up to whatever you're pairing it with. Was the go-to wine for my late grandmother and I see why. I would absolutely drink this again and raise a glass to her. — 13 hours ago

Decanted for about 2 hours. Broken cork that seemed dried out and I couldn’t get out of the bottle. Filtered the wine into the decanter.

Wine had the classic Valdicava aromas that are unique and alluring. Almost like a Sangiovese / Cabernet blend and mix of dark fruit, cocoa. I can’t describe as much as I can always recognize it.

Wine was very good. Not the best expression of this wine but solid.

50% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot. Refreshing on the nose with pink pepper and cypress berries aromas, which are reminiscent of the Mediterranean shrub. On tasting, the wine is elegant with a lovely acidity and an enduring and savoury finish. — 21 days ago
