The 2010 Montée de Tonnerre pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, this is an absolute powerhouse; sizzling with energy, tropical and orchard fruit: passionfruit, tangerine, green apple, crushed seashell, lemon curd and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and full of minerals. A supercharger of a Chablis. Quite light straw , green hints . On the nose this is quite restrained , some apricot , pineapple , white flower notes. On the palate again restrained , lemon peel , touch of apricot , pineapple, hint of toastiness . High acidity and really good balance , nice lemon peel tinged finish . First time trying this, and we were very impressed. Lots of orchard fruits on the nose, with a hint of baked apples. Very little perceptible wood treat on the nose or palate. It presents crisp on the palate with a nice bright acidity, but has volume and weight. Love the fruit and moderate sweetness. Less malo and nutty notes make this a big hit for us.
