Clos des Ormes Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Drinking well now but will clearly open out and develop in time. Lovely soft raspberries and great length and backbone. — 5 months ago

Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Just OK on day one. After 2 days on my Argon line. Cardamom, Allspice, forest notes, tannins integrated, black tea, orange rind and dark cherries. I prefer the Suchots from the same vintage. Over all i don’t think that Pascal Marchand did a good job in 2010. I am surprised that he did not better with Grand Cru fruit in a good vintage. May be picked too early? 13% . — a year ago

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2014

Wow. Still needs to be decanted. BOLD flavors of olive wood and smoked meat. Savory umami off the charts…. Terroir firmly in place. Medium finish. Drink it now — 2 months ago

Sancerre Chene Marchand Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Lots going on, probably best suited for savoury food pairing, slightly rich. Sense this could use a few years in bottle to integrate. — 6 months ago

Les Suchots Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Dark cherry, tea notes, rich and big, Crushed marble. Plenty of tannins left could run for 5 more years. See my previous notes as well this is excellent and how Burgundy should be. 13.5%. — a year ago

Chêne Marchand Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2022 Chêne Marchand is a richly fruited wine offering creamy notes and ripe peach fruit. While it's an opulent style for a Sancerre, it never becomes heavy, plus it has an almost tannic edge, providing a frame and reassuring structure that grips the palate, suggesting that this has longevity. There's a fine, briny character throughout. Having tasted the killer 1996 vintage a few minutes afterward, you can be sure this wine has a long life ahead. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2024)
