Matt Bruce mac katie liz. Christmas 2024
Very good. Maybe to young. Had some liquerish flavor at the end. But was drinking this next to a margaux. — a month ago
Medium ruby pink rim, quite thin rim. More dense and darker on the nose than the Chapelle . Dark plum , blackberry , dark cherry , touch of spice again , quite dense , with a touch of spice on the medium length finish . Lacks the elegance of the Chapelle , a bit more tannic and bigger boned , less fresh perhaps , but a touch more mineral also . Needs more time , another 3-5 years and will show well for a further 5 -8. Again successful but the La Chapelle just comes out in front , though this will be longer lived . — 2 months ago
No formal notes . Medium deep ruby . This seems a bit more advanced . This is a bit harder and more structured on the palate , more tannin , less velvety and a bit more astringent . More spicy , drier on the palate . This needed more time to open . This was quite difficult to judge , I wasn’t 100% convinced about this bottle as it just seemed a little oxidative, however it did actually seemed to come together better after an hour or so , but still quite hard and astringent in comparison to the others (especially La Mission) . Showed a touch more mineral and grafite on the finish too after a while. This needed time , and I would imagine another bottle might tell a different story . — 4 days ago
First growth Bordeaux with Christmas Dinner! (Thanks to my wonderful Son-in-Law). Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (57%), Merlot (23%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Dark Ruby color with a slight rust colored rim. Extremely savory on both the nose and palate. Aromas of charcoal, graphite, unsweetened cocoa and black cherry. Flavors of tobacco, bakers chocolate, roasted herbs and a bit of black berry/cherry fruit. Very long and oaky/earthy finish. Well structured, full bodied and very complex. Soft tannins. Quite a treat! Thanks so much, Petey! — a month ago
I would die for this bottle you have no idea — a month ago
No formal notes . Slightly lighter than the others , but still ruby , touch of garnet at the rim. Spicer and rounder red and dark fruits . Finer and more mineral more elegant on the palate . Quite elegant . Refined and elegant , mineral , good balance and acidity . This came across as lighter than the others , though with no lack of definition . Mineral , grafite tinged finish . Showing well this is probably going to have a slightly shorter life than the others , but is great for medium term drinking , over next 5-10 years perhaps . — 4 days ago
No formal notes . medium deep ruby , medium bright ruby rim. Quite spicy a little oak noticeable at first . Mixed dark fruits . A bit more round and juicy on the palate , good acidity , slightly grippy but polished tannins . This becomes a bit more restrained and reserved after a while. Served blind , I actually put this as Haut Brion , due to its generous personality, and polished tannins. Overall showed well in the flight was my top wine (though the Cheval Blanc may well be better in absolute terms) . Can be enjoyed now , though has the substance to last a further decade or so, a good showing for the Mouton. — 4 days ago

1996 vintage. Still good fruit, Pessac-Léognan spices. A very good second wine. Drinking well, but I believe it will hold for at least a decade. Serious length too. — 13 days ago
