Pooley

Coal River Valley Pinot Noir 2018

Very identifiable as Tasmanian Pinot - this one from the Coal River and the high performing Pooley Wines. Last tasting note here was way back 153 weeks ago. Red fruited - drinking this early in its drinking window. Light to medium weight - lovely Tassie purity. Fine tannins. — a year ago

Thierry Allemand

Cornas Reynard (R) Syrah 2007

Allemand nightcap! From the terrific wine list at CUT Vegas. Allemand is truly one of my absolute favorite producers and this 07 Reynard from the master was superb. It’s deep, powerful and has a searing intensity. Ethereal and layered with dark fruit, coal smoke, black olive and violets.

There is superb concentration along with a firm tannic structure that is beginning to soften as it approaches its drinking apogee. It’s exceptionally well balanced with an incredibly long, palate saturating and harmonious finish with vivid energy and an elegant purity. WowWw. ☄️

Tolpuddle Vineyard

Tasmania Pinot Noir 2015

A gorgeous savoury red fruited extravaganza. Herbal notes from whole bunches in the fermentation (50%). This certainly has become an instant hit as a top quality Pinot Noir from the Coal River Tasmania but owned by Shaw + Smith from the Adelaide Hills. Interesting to try 2 quality Pinots from the same vintage (2015) on successive nights. The Tolpuddle won over Yarra Yering in this bout, marginally. James Suckling’s comments, “They have totally nailed it” and 97 points. — 4 months ago

Guillaume Selosse

Largillier Extra Brut Champagne Pinot Noir

7/17 Disgorgment, and 2010 based. Always a favorite of mine, and with some bottle age it takes on even further levels of unmatched complexity, layers, depth and aromatics synonymous with Selosse. Largillier is a wine I just can’t stay away from. — 3 years ago

One of Napoleon's favorites and also one of mine. Fully complemented my dessert but didn't add overwhelming sweetness 😊 — 2 months ago

The Ojai Vineyard

Bien Nacido Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

Santa Barbera Chardonnay is really becoming a favourite of mine. The Pinot from SB seems to get all the attention here in Sweden but the Chardonnay is outperforming the Pinot by a mile. Very bright and well balanced. Seashell, pear, honey, hezelnuts, jasmin, tiger balm. — 2 years ago

Being an easily accessible SB in Sweden I must say I enjoy all their wines a lot, but I agree with your assessment on the Chdy.
