On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading GERSHWIN (Piano Concerto in F), GERSHWIN (Variations on “I Got Rhythm,” for piano and orchestra) and STRAVINSKY (Petrushka) with the amazing Jean-Yves Thibaude as the piano soloist on the two first works presented today. Jean-Yves is by far among our favorite pianists to grace the Koussevitzky Shed stage, so graceful, yet poignant!

Hot days call for cool wines, today there are some fun ones planned for sharing.

There were decent selections to pair seafoods from Galápagos, but I wanted the try an Ecuadorian wine, and this was recommended.
Effusive nose started off with pleasant tropical fruits like kiwi and star fruits, then turned to fresh stone fruits and light honeysuckle. High tone acidity but nicely textured. Saline touch on the clean lifted finish.
Quite impressive. And Versatile enough to pair with a wide range of seafood dishes from oyster to grilled lobster. — 6 months ago

Deep purple color with some ruby variations towards the rim. High viscosity. On nose wine is clean medium plus intensity. Blue and black fruits. Tart plum, raisins. Oak present. On mouth wine is very fruity almost appears to be sweet. Acidity appears low but high alcohol is not noticeable, so acidity must be higher. Tannin really silk — 6 months ago

Yellow-white, excellent clarity. White floral and lemon peel notes in nose. Candied lemon fruit flavor, slight trace of lemon fruit sweetness with a core of lemon pulp tartness, good acidity overall, mineral finish with lingering lemon fruit flavor. Really intriguing varietal, well made wine. Five variations on fresh lemon expression in a white table wine? It could be, impressionistically, at least. — 4 years ago
