Casal di Serra Vecchie Vigne Classico Superiore Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2023

Austere was the first word that came to mind and then I saw it in @Tom Casagrande’s review as well (though of the previous vintage). Overall I still enjoyed it, but you have to be in the mood for a crisp, somewhat bitter, reclusive wine. — 16 hours ago

Vecchie Vigne Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

2016 vintage. Decanted with very little sediment and tasted over the course of 2.5 hours. Medium body. Initially, very tight. Opened up somewhat but never really gained the high ground. Oodles of dark fruit mixed with enough structure. Revisit in 4-5 years. 11.28.24. — 6 months ago

Haven’t tried this yet, but I would have expected more based on the rep of this cuvée, particularly in the ‘16 vintage. Needs time maybe.

Vigna Cinque Querce Taurasi Aglianico 2015

Mo
9.2

WS: 93. Suave and harmonious, with a firm frame of fine-grained tannins married to ripe black and red currant fruit, iron and ash, anise, black tea leaf and citrus peel notes. This expands on the palate and through the long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2035. 950 cases made, 400 cases imported.
