Really intense structure and firm tannins. Would do well with another 5+ years aging. Displays wild cherry, earthy/tar quality, licorice and wood influence. — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour alongside the 2005 vintage. The 2009 “Giulio Ferrari” pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes of spiced apple, passion fruit, and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and fresher than the 2005 vintage. Drink now. — 7 months ago
one of my first sauvignon blancs. good stuff, very light crisp and quite smooth — 8 months ago
Bright lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and flinty floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and lemon citrus with notes of vanilla, white flowers and garden spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with vanilla and flinty mineral spice. Nice! — 3 years ago
Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, bell pepper, forest floor, herbs, and dark cherry. On the palate, blueberry, dark berry, cassis, pepper, spice, toasted oak, vanilla, chocolate, and a long finish. Full bodied, rich and balanced. — a month ago
Lookout Tree 2018 is tasting very nice today. Paired with a steak and salad and very pleased with this wine. — 2 months ago
Pop n pour. Given that it’s 70% Mourvèdre, the color is surprisingly light. (There’s 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah too.) Medium color saturation. Inviting nose of a melange of ripe berries and a smoky embers note. Crushed rock behind that. Soft and intensely flavored in the mouth, with the berries less prominent, jousting with dark earthy and pleasantly vegetal notes. Soft but balanced acids and tannins almost silky. Really nice. Terrific value at $25 from WTSO. — 7 months ago
3019 vintage, smooth, buttery and delicious. Notes of vanilla, butterscotch and oak. Would definitely buy again!

Krupp Brothers – Cabernet Sauvignon “Veraison” 2009
Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley – USA 🇺🇸
Overview:
From the famed Stagecoach Vineyard, this 2009 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon shows why Krupp Brothers has earned a reputation for power and finesse. At nearly 15 years, it’s still on the ascent, with structure and depth that promise more evolution ahead.
Aromas & Flavors:
Layers of dark cassis, blackberry compote, and black cherry mingle with graphite, cedar, and espresso. Hints of dried violets and cocoa powder emerge with air, weaving a bouquet that is both bold and nuanced.
Mouthfeel:
Full-bodied and dense, yet polished. Firm tannins and vibrant acidity still hold the core tightly, making it feel youthful despite its age. The finish is long, savory, and mineral-driven, echoing dark fruit and spice.
Food Pairings:
A classic match for dry-aged ribeye, braised short ribs, or wild mushroom risotto.
Verdict:
An outstanding wine, multi-layered, complex, and still climbing toward its peak. A bottle to savor now with decanting, but also a treasure for collectors willing to wait.
🍷 Personal Pick Highlight:
This vintage remains one of the standout expressions of Stagecoach Vineyard fruit, alongside 2010, it is a benchmark release. Collectors take note: the 2009 is still gaining complexity and shows remarkable staying power. — 9 months ago
Excellent Italian sparkler. Crisp, Chardonnay based, beautiful long finish. Especially good in Trani, Puglia. 🇮🇹 — a month ago
Medium ruby , wide light pink ruby rim . Quite aromatic on the nose with ripe red cherry , hints of thyme , rosemary and mint , with some wet stones hints . On the palate this has good freshness with vibrant acidity , red cherry and cut herbs along with a light stony , mineral character . Ripe , quite light tannins and good raspberry , herbal tinged length . Well made , vibrant and fresh . From now and over the next 3-4 years whilst it retains its youthful fruitiness . — 2 months ago
Super complex light red fruit medium soft tannins. Leather olives — 5 months ago
Dark cherry up front with some sweetness with a smooth finish of black licorice and wet stone. — 7 months ago
Easily one of my favorite Chardonnays. It starts strong with an apple tartness and fruity acidity that fades to mellow oaky undertones with a butterscotch creamy finish. Not overdoing the oak or butter. It's the full Chardonnay experience in waves. Every sip is like trying 3 different wines back to back and I love to savor it. — 8 months ago
A nice Alexander Valley Bordeaux blend that pairs well with red meat. This 2022 is drinking nicely now and will only improve with more cellar time.

Dense Ruby with a Crimson rim. Aromas of red and black berries, chocolate, and smoked meat. Full bodied and muscular. From a single vineyard in McLaren Vale which was planted 124 years ago. Silky tannins. A great red on a cold night in Winter. Love the old fashioned label which probably hasn’t changed in 100 years showing the two Kay Brothers. Hope to have the patience to drink the last bottle in say 2028 to 2030. — 6 days ago
