Blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%). Dark ruby color with a garnet meniscus. Aromas of black berry/cherry fruit, purple flowers, leather, garrigue and dried herbs. Flavors of dried blackberry and red and black cherry fruit, tobacco, black pepper, red and black licorice and a bit of smoked meat. Medium-plus body and finish. Plus acidity, nice structure and nicely smoothed out tannins. Well aged and hitting its peak. Appreciate you opening this one, Ron B! — 3 months ago

A great Gigondas at this price ($55). Not much tannin, but distinct leathery and earthy notes that distinguish it from the mine run. Good rec from Lower Falls. — 5 months ago

The description: Domaine du Cayron Gigondas is a traditional, full-bodied French red wine from the Southern Rhône Valley, known for its rich blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault grapes. Produced by the Faraud family for five generations, it features intense dark fruit, spice, and earthy notes, with a velvety texture and long, savoury finish.
The opinion: Delicious. Needs a good stew or steak. — 3 months ago

Full bodied Gigondas, paired alongside lamb ragu. Stood up great to the food. Think the wine could have used another hour decant to really show itself. — 17 days ago
