Deep and clear butterscotch gold. Big bosomy nose of baked quince and true butterscotch. Medium full palate confirms the nose adding lemon rind, birch, and a hint of white pepper. Bracing acidity from entry to moderate finish supports it all. Ripe, New World fruit pairs with a cool Burgundian structure to make a great pair for a wide range of fare, from seafood to cream sauces to roasted fowl or pork. Take to Thanksgiving dinner or hold through 2026. — 8 months ago
Solid medium dry sercial; fine predinner — 2 years ago
Dark purple/ruby color made from high altitude fruit. Quite aromatic featuring cooked plums and blueberries with hints of violet, mint and lavender. Juicy plum and blueberry flavors fill the palate with additional notes of baking spices and roasted nuts. A bit of cedar on the long finish. Medium-plus body with pretty fine tannins. Vibrant with some tension. Nice choice, Keith S! — 7 months ago
Talk about classy (or classic) Chardonnay, don’t matter really, this is both! This is in its own league when it comes to Chard. It’s crisp yet round, bright yet balanced, and acidic yet unctuous. Not old world but not typical Cali Chard. Must try this ABC. Cheers. — 8 months ago
Founded in 1970 and considered one of the "first growths" of Napa Valley, SLWC produces renowned Wines from its historic Stags Leap District estate vineyards. Pale lemon with green edges, aromas of citrus and earthy herb. On the palate orange and grapefruit flavors with grassy tones, crisp and fresh. Good mouthfeel medium finish ending with lively acidity. Nice, consistent quality! — 2 years ago
Translucent cold brew color, rather pungent citrus and roasted pecan nose. Yum already. Then medium sweet, deeply caramel more pecan on the palate. This wine feels like family and that’s not just my Austin-grandparent-pecan-picking nostalgia. It’s so friendly but capable of throwing you for a loop—how high is that alcohol? (19.5 abv)) but WHAT sort of kernel/nut elements are they and are they STILL judging where I went to school? These pecan-savvy questions fade as elegant smoky elements wave through to tell you it doesn’t matter so long as you graduated. It keeps you on your toes and keeps you looking towards more time together. — 7 months ago

Estate is the Napa Valley property of Bordeaux producer Christian Moueix; wine is bottled at historic Napanook Vineyard. A blend of 89% Cab Sauv, 6% Cab Franc & 5% Petit Verdot, aged in 40% new French oak, dark Ruby with aromas of dark currant-like berries, tobacco and cedar. On the palate layers of ripe blackberry, black cherry and cassis with vanilla, cacao and espresso. Well balanced, fine soft integrated tannins, long finish ending with floral, fruit, mineral and slight earthy character. Needs a half dozen years in the bottle but will last 20+ years! As good as Cab gets! — 2 years ago
