On the palate, those orchard fruits carry through with clarity, lifted by chalky minerality and just a whisper of vanilla from restrained oak aging.

There’s tension and precision here, crisp acidity, textured mouthfeel, and a lingering, clean finish that speaks to the cool, calcareous terroir. A beautifully structured Chardonnay with real pedigree, and an excellent value for its level of finesse.

Nicely aged Pinot in peak form. The nose still shows traces of sweet cherry and raspberry along with steeped red tea, worn leather, baking spice, and dried earth. Palate echoes the nose. Medium body with snappy acidity. Tannins still have good grip.

Stunningly complex, mesmerising and fantastic.
Full of tertiary notes: Figs, hazelnuts, stemmed ginger, dried lemon peel, honey. Loads of caramel, baking spices, vanilla and tonka beans. Quite oxidative almost sherry like. Super bright acidity, wonderful balance and structure, a super lush and creamy finish. — 8 months ago

One of the best example of ripe style California Chardonnay I have ever had. It hits with a savory character of grilled pineapple, then gives away to a variety of ripe stone fruit, a roux of spiced oak and even further back, a crushed rock minerality that keeps the ensemble lifted and enticing. The pallet is even more surprising as it confirms the stone fruit, adds a touch of citrus and slaps you with tingling stony acidity that keeps going and going. The juxtaposition of opulence and lean elegance is outstanding. After drinking through some flabby 2018s recently, this is a smacking reminder of why I fell in love with Jim’s wines to begin with. Blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot, Malbec, rest other Rhone varieties, aged 20 months in 37% new French oak. Dark Ruby, aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs & spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and black currant with vanilla oak and earthy notes. Well balanced, fine tannins long finish ending with fruit, espresso notes and sweet spice!
