A very good left bank classed growth (5th growth) from a good vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon dominant aromatics (74%). Blackcurrant and cedar - a little tomato bush. A good wine but to state the obvious does not have the class and complexity of the higher classed growths. For example 3rd growth 2009 Chateau Palmer is a stunning wine - very rich, complex with a long life in front of it - very much superior to Chateau Batailley. — 10 hours ago
95-96. Potente e bilanciato. — 6 days ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (91.3%) and Merlot (8.7%). A bit tight and unexpressive right out of the bottle. After a 45 minute decant, this wine was awake and very alive. Dark ruby color. Aromas of graphite, forest floor, wet gravel and dark black fruit. Flavors of black currant/cherry/berry/plum, tobacco, baking spices, dark chocolate and minerals. Distinct notes of smoky oak and wet earth on the long and lingering finish. Tannins were a bit lighter than expected at first but developed with aeration. Quite savory, rich, full bodied and powerful. Beautiful texture. Exceptional (once it opened up) but not the bottle of near perfection that I had heard so much about. Thanks for sharing, Petey and Happy Birthday, Kase! — 10 days ago
On nose, violets, wild berries, leather, black cherry,
On palate, its soft with medium intensity, still quite tannic consider it as wine from 2016, i got the fruit notes like plums, black cherry, earthy, more on merlot character. 48% Carbenet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, Petit Verdot 4%, Carbenet Franc 3% — 14 days ago
Expensive but worth it. This Bordeaux is just right now. Paradigmatic Pauillac with deep brooding flavor and bitter finish. Tannins are perfectly smooth. Perfect with steak or on its own while listening to music while contemplating the meaning of life. All of the leather, earth, and tar one can expect from a fine Pauillac and under $100. — 21 days ago

A 2nd Grand Cru Classé 1855 Chateau located in the southern end of Pauillac that produces powerful wines with amazing structure wines.
V.2018 was beautifully blended at 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35%Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8%Petit Verdot, that delivers high-powered notes of espresso, tobacco leaves, and dense-black fruits on the nose.
Full-bodied, rich and velvety with an exquisite silken mouthfeel that is so signature of Pauillac wines, very plushy and opulent, yet well-priced and worth every single sip to the very last drop.
Age worthy to a decade if patient. However; literally couldn’t wait for it and had it all in a single seat! — 4 days ago
