G-Max Rheinhessen Riesling 2005

lovely intense Riesling fruit. A hint of oxidation. Slate, apple, sweet floral notes. Rounded with good weight in the mid palate. Defined and precise. Excellent. — 13 days ago

Les Greffieux Ermitage Syrah 2011

A super solid NRhone. All the telltale signs meaty/savory with dark fruit in an elegant package. My only issue was the intensity. Maybe asking too much. — a month ago

"Le Pavillon" Ermitage Syrah 2015

100 point disappointment...tastes like Bordeaux...clearly very well made but with the new oak was toned down a lot! — 15 days ago

Louis M. Martini

Lot No. 1 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

As a nod to Karen (who some will remembered worked at Louis M. Martini decades ago—and is the nicest and best person to ever work in the wine industry) we opened this for my birthday. Paired it with a Tri Tip. It was a nice pairing. Good cab. It was better a couple years ago but still nice to drink for a special occasion. — 6 days ago

G Major Seven Study 575 OVX Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

It’s been 16 months since last bottle of this Gargiulo G Major 7. One of my early Napa favorites. Fruit is ripe and bountiful, dark red and black. Very nicely balanced, acidity is very much holding its own, tannins are soft yet still structured. Gravely, vanilla, licorice, pencil shavings. Nice finish. Opens up nicely in the glass. — 6 days ago

This was crazy!!! 1hr+ decant. Dessert in a glass. Dark red/purple color. Candied blue and black fruit dominate. Hints of cedar and a touch of coffee on the end. Wow!! — 17 days ago
