Well this bottle cost me a Nickel as it was my Birthday Wine bottle from Total wine. For this price, this is pretty good. Actually, even for the retail price of $15 it’s pretty good. Red fruit, leaves, wet stones, stewed fruits, nice body and acidity. Medium finish. — 4 months ago
Ruby. Nose of tobacco, smoke, cherry, fresh blackcurrant, violet, earthy. Palate of ripe cherry, blackcurrant, leather, vanilla, clove. Medium + velvet Tannin, medium+ acidity.
Paired with USDA T-bone. It wasn't just a meal; the earthy depth of the wine transformed the mushrooms and steak into a multidimensional experience. It reminded me why I value the art of pairing so much. — 6 months ago

Very good chianti. Dominates a leather and pepper. Very… vibrating. — a month ago
Golden coloration. On the nose, lemon, brioche, minerals. On the palate, nice creamy texture, fuller body, a touch of earthiness, but primarily long lasting citrus and lemon notes with minerality on the palate that finishes strong with those 3 notes ending with a crush of a acidity. — 2 months ago

I usually don’t bother to report on the cork, but the cork in this bottle was stained a deep purple – almost black. I sniffed it and the intensity of its bouquet told me that this wine would be luscious. Herbal (sage & oregano) with a hint of rich umami solidity (almost like bacon). All from a cork! In a glass, the nose is less intense. Oregano and sage dominate. The “meatiness” of cork scent fades way back. Fruit forward without being syrupy — black cherries. Medium tannic structure, with hints of dark chocolate at the lower end of the spectrum balanced by a pleasing earthy minerality in the high notes. Unfortunately, the finish fades quickly. If this wine had a long finished, I’d probably give it at 9.8, but as it is a 9.5 will have to suffice. — 20 days ago

first time dining at Chef Vola. 2020 is great but needs air to open up. even 2 hours wasn’t quite enough to show. felt a bit closed to me but still very enjoyable. — 2 days ago
