Thoroughly integrated tannins in an aged wine that has started its decline. Dark fruit, vanilla oak and cedar on the palette. Classic Bordeaux on the nose. — 12 days ago
2009 vintage. Generous fill. Fairy tale cork. Decanted and tasted after 30 mins. Just a little bit of sed. Light-medium body as is the usual Giscours style. Some cherry prettiness melded with dusty earth and appropriate tannic presence. Nose a bit of dark plum that wasn’t forwarded onto the flavor platform-at least at the opportunity I had to enjoy it. Never an explosive style from this Château and this was opened about 5-7 years too early to hit the top of the specific bell curve. Drinking very very nicely now and (easily) for the next decade +. 4.20.24. — a month ago
Yum! Elegance and precision. Lacking depth on the mid palate but then it comes back with its evident classy personality. — 24 days ago
Beautiful pure nose. Lacking mid palate deepness at this stage but overall nice and well balanced and integrated. Closing a bit harsh but this will improve with time. — 25 days ago
Fresh, balanced, steady and consistent. — 23 days ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of about 50% Cab Sauv, with Merlot, Cab Franc & Petit Verdot, Deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruit aromas and herb notes. On the palate black raspberry and blackberry, currant-like, with tobacco, cacao and smoky oak notes. Fine polished tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy mineral tones, drinks well now and will last for the next decade+. Tasting Sample! — 4 days ago
