Very nicely balanced with mild tannins, dark cherry, and green pepper. Paired perfectly with spaghetti. — 2 months ago

San Michele Roero Arneis 2017

Again a bottle to my liking. So guess that previous one was off. High in acids, tangerine fruits, classic bitters — a month ago

Langhe Nebbiolo 2021

The colour is so attractive, so seductive.
Gloriously luminous.
Fruit is there, rose petals, tobacco, talc powder.
The wine is just pure joy.
It has a tannin thta screams for food of course, but but excellent quality tannin we must state.
Long and more.

San Giorgio Spumante Erbaluce di Caluso 2019

Fruity, quite dry, really a solid sparkler, nice acid, medium-long finish, perfect for this 110-degree day (yeah, it’s a “dry” heat)!! — 3 months ago

Cinque Stelle Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2018

Deep ruby color.
Aromas of red berry fruit, spice.
Off-dry. Flavors of rich & zesty raspberry, cherry, cinnamon. Rich, velvety tannins.

San Giorgio

Ugolforte Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Medium orange-rimmed ruby in color. Not too expressive on the nose: some dried flowers, albeit with stems and potting soil. Medium plus bodied. Medium minus acidity. Dry with nice initial palate feel but then gives way to bitterness and somewhat rough tannins. Medium alcohol at 14.0ABV but feels hotter. Some cranberry/unripe strawberry left, but not much else--pehaps some woody vanilla. At 8 years old, I would expect some tertiary flavors to have begun to develop. I don't think this is improving. It's a strong Brunello with a stiff upper lip, would pair well with a Florentine steak, but not elegant.
