Perfectly refreshing. The slightest tingle of bubbles and not too dry, with fruity undertones. — 3 years ago
So good. Liquorice, dark, bramble, warm. — 5 years ago
Beautiful Syrah from Spring Mountain, savoury aromas and flavors, very French-like if served blind, still has lots of primary redfruits showing, tannins have largely receded, from a partially-shaded 5-acre portion at the bottom of the Paloma vineyard, long finish, I believe the Syrah vines were planted in 1992 and pulled out after the 2001/2002(?) vintage, Barbara and Jim Richards said the farming was more difficult than the Merlot (and smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon) that Paloma is known for and thus they elected to replant (graft? Not sure) more of the other varieties into that plot. While the first vintage of the Syrah (1995) was never commercially released (12 cases produced from 3 year old vines), Jim was kind enough to send me home with 4 bottles, that wine was the best Syrah to EVER come off that vineyard, I was forever in his debt, it was AMAZING. I miss Barbara and Jim, some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in the wine business (I’m NOT in the business myself)!! — 3 months ago
Surprisingly pleasant and fun. Had it twice and drank it down both times. Cooled it a bit first. — 3 years ago
Really enjoyed the taste with my dinners. Will definitely get more in the future — 5 years ago
I think if you read this nonsense I post, you know how I feel about this producer, past & present. This 07 is outstanding & top of its bell curve. It is so good to revisit these great vintages of Caymus Classic.
This is fresher than the 97. It is rich/lush, cassis to currents, ripe, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, raspberries & strawberries. Dark chocolate, mocha, classic, beautiful, Caymus Classic spice that I miss dearly in their new wines, black licorice, fudge, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg & vanillin, most top soil, limestone, dry herbs, dry tobacco, barrel shavings, taut leather, volcanic grey clay, dark, fresh & slightly withering flowers, violets, beautiful round acidity, balance, structure, nice tension and elegant finish that last minutes and falls on spice and evoluted earth tones.
This bottle is in fine shape. Still strong and will last another 10 years of fine drinking. Phenomenal vintage and time to enjoy. — 5 months ago
Lemon and white flowers on the nose, a rich body with mild acid and honey sweetness. "This is a really good one.' Bob, connoisseur of Liebfraumilch. — 3 years ago
Super duper yum. Bright and complex. 10/10 will drink again. — 4 years ago

Vintage 2018 | what a difference a day makes… the weather… the food… the company… perhaps this is my last bottle, thought I needed to drink up… but today paired with a mussel potato salad this wine is vibrant… smell of lychees, citrus and some vanilla. Tastes well, juicy. So happy… my wife and I drank the bottle -except a glass that went with the mussels - all at once. — 2 months ago
