Amazing 25 year old petite bursting with fruit. Lovely full bodied wine that almost had me thinking high end cab blend. — 18 hours ago
With 20 years of age this wine has evolved. The primary fruit has moved to deep dried versions of cherry blackberry and fig side by side with earth tar leather cedar bitter cocoa and tobacco. The nose is extremely pronounced and the tannins now soft. It was worth keeping these 2 decades. — a day ago
v18. Very good. Soft dried herb, smoked meat and tobacco nose. Fresh black currant fruit. Velvety smooth, slightly astringent, zippy chocolate finish. Good dinner wine. — 6 days ago
We recently had this by the glass at Peaks, NYC. We enjoyed it so much that we bought a few bottles. While I consider this to be a “construction site,” I respect what the Wagner’s have accomplished. Not gonna bother with tasting notes as this is just a cherry compote fruit bomb. Tasted using a coravin as a few glasses represents a meal on its own. — 18 hours ago

The “Black Label” edition of the ‘18 vintage for 50th anniversary of the winery, with 3% Cab from the Backus vineyard - a first time for Insignia. Not sure that makes a difference.
Truly an exceptional wine even by Insignia standard. Complex notes of blackberry, red plum, cassis, cedar, tobacco, baking spices, menthol, and light forest floor that do not try to overwhelm your senses. Power and grace on the palate with impeccable balance.
Drinking beautifully now but patience will be rewarded. — 17 days ago
