Sophia and Johann’s rehearsal dinner (Sept 2018) — 6 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry, cassis, eucalyptus, vanilla, plum and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins. — a month ago
Just received the 2021s and thought I’d open a bottle. Decanted 15 minutes. Big red fruit - cherry, plum. Lighter bodied for a cab. Fruit is overpowering and just on the edge of too ripe. Tannins are soft with a slightly grippy feel. Good value. Someone rated this 97 which seems a bit high to me. — a month ago
2014, Screaming Eagle 2nd Label is a treat for sure. Color is a semi murky garnet purple. Nose - dark fruits, meaty, herbaceous menthol with floral notes, truffle, and a subtle vanilla kick at the end. Taste - black cherry and plum dominate. Concentrated and well structured, smooth and mouth coating giving it its elegant appeal. Secondary notes of mocha java, black pepper and a cedar graphite adding to its medium plus finish. — 23 days ago
Pretty solid CS. Deep black currant aromas & flavors. Fruit but not jam. Still holding up. Drink or hold — a month ago
A much better bottle than the one I had in 2021. Vibrant blackberry and black cherry flavors. The tannins have integrated well with mild acidity. Very enjoyable. — a month ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Inky in color with a reddish rim.
Strong nose of black fruits with chocolate notes, cedar, vanilla, tobacco, Indian spices and licorice.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, licorice, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee, cola and herbs.
Long spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is another terrific wine from the problematic 2020 vintage in Napa Valley. Nicely balanced, complex and smooth. Elegant with a great mouthfeel.
Rich, extracted and in your face kind of wine. The nose is really gorgeous at this point.
Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes in the decanter. Good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. Organic.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
