2010 vintage. Excellent vintage. Very smooth no aftertaste. One of the best Brunello’s I’ve ever had. — 4 months ago

Montevertine's Pian del Ciampolo blend is 90% Sangiovese, rest with equal amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino, deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and smoky oak. On the palate flavors of cherry and currants with dried herb notes, cacao and tobacco notes. Fine ripe sweet tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy herb spice character. Another oldie but goodie !!! — 4 months ago
Expressive nose with quite a lot of baking spice and some fresh red cherry + a pinch of exotic spice. Ripe, full, enticing
On the palate this is round & smooth with sultry, velvety tannins, a very nice presence on the mid palate and quite long lasting, spicy finish. Riper & rounder than I usually like my Barberas but a very nice wine nonetheless. The 15% alc sticks out a bit in the end though. — 6 months ago
Great Barbera with valid meaning to the Superiore tag…superior balance, body, flavor, smoothness on the palate and other accoutrements of a finer Barbera. — 2 months ago
This was rich, savory showing lots of dark fruits & spice. This will continue to develop showing well now — 4 months ago

No notes but to emphasize the obvious: boy, this goes Zelig with air. Starts off Beaujolais like, slightly unripe blackberries, crunchy cranberries & shortish finish ( like Dolcetto!) but ends (& would keep going!) as absurdly satisfying, elegant even with a very earthy palate of wild berries & pitch perfect snap. Yum. — a month ago
