I thought this had a harsh taste at first, but then it really opened up and grew on me. The harshness softened, maybe was mulberry. Definitely some sour cherry. Medium to full bodied. I liked more than light pinots, not as much as Barolo. — 11 days ago

My friend from Emilia Romagna brought me this wine again, 5 years after after visiting his hometown for Christmas. Same wine, different vintage, same enjoyment.
The nose is made of cherry, pencil shavings, some soy sauce and a touch of smoke. The palate is delicious with a great acid drive, some delicious cherry juice notes all along, some width, some grippy mouthfeel that is well disrupted by a great tannic wall kicking in the rear. The finish is tannic, grippy with cherry notes and some oaky, smoky notes and a great umami touch. It's a great Sangiovese from outside of Tuscany and it paired with nice steaks cooked rare in butter (2 minutes on each side) by yours truly 😅 — 3 months ago

Probably my favourite producer of Barolo...never had a bad bottle. This is young with bracing tanins but it is already so approachable. Cherries, leather and menthol dominate but there is so much depth. Lovely wine! — 9 months ago

Belated post from Mother’s Day dinner. This was in full splendor at 20 years old. It was ready and had many secondary notes intertwined with primary flavors of rose petals, leather, wood shavings, yes the tar was there but not as pronounced as I have found in younger Barolos from Conterno. A gem found in the cellar that I’m glad I didn’t wait another day to open. — 2 months ago
