Old Vine Zinfandel 2023

This is a lovely old vine Zinfandel from various vineyards Bedrock sources their juice from, smooth, balanced, long finish, but a great example of what not to serve AFTER a Bedrock single vineyard wine (like the 2023 Old Hill Heritage we just finished), I’m happy to open this any day of the week, but the comparison is stark! — 7 days ago

Dark gold color. Slightly past prime. Needs 20 minutes of air. Pears, popcorn, cream, and nuts on the nose. Same on the palate with some vanilla and coconut. Super deep wine with a long finish. I love aged Napa Chard!! — 2 months ago

Russian River Selection Pinot Noir 2023

Reddish in color with medium intensity.

Fruity nose with cherries, fresh raspberries, light oak, spices, chocolates, earth, herbs and tobacco leaf.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with strawberries, raspberries, fresh cherries, light oak, chocolates, herbs, earth, light tobacco and black pepper.

Good length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This 3 year old Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley is starting to drink very nicely now.

Fruit forward and easy drinking, elegant and nicely balanced. Tangy and refreshing, complex and entertaining.

Will continue to age nicely in 5 years.

I gave it a light chill and had it all by itself.

100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in (35% new) French Oak barrels for 9 months.

13.9% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$45.

Big polished and showing a hint of heat. Happily the oak isn’t too pronounced. For me this baby needs time. — 3 months ago

Vine Starr Sonoma County Zinfandel 2023

Haven’t had for awhile. So brilliant. Fresh crushed berries, plums, forest, greenery, just on the nose. Palate is similar with some dried rose mixed in. Fresh plums, cherries, so tart, jolly rancher but not quite love this wine. — 2 months ago

I have a cold, but it has a strong, yet enjoyable flavor. I like how dark of a wine it is. — 5 months ago

Bedrock Wine Co.

Ode to Lulu California Old Vine Rosé Blend

Total sleeper: while the label simply says ‘Syrah’, the reality in the making of it is that it’s a co-fermentation of 85% Syrah from some of Bedrock’s prized vineyards and (about) about 15% Viognier. And man does it work- particularly for the price.

Russian River Ranches Chardonnay

Very nice and classically Californian. Oak forward with cream followed by pear and a balancing touch of citrus. A little oakier than my favorites but still nice. You’ll like more if that’s your style. — 2 months ago

Twomey

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2033

Twomey's 25th anniversary RRV Pinot. Expressive florals both on taste and nose. Red cherry opener and I get a bit of smoke and dusty soil. Medium mouthfeel and mild tannins. The wine is well-balanced and quite expressive through the finish. — 2 months ago
